Technical FAQs

What color systems are available in Series 544?

Series 544 is based on monopigmented MS base colors, offering brilliant purity and high color strength. High‑transparent versions are available for glossy, transparent designs. Custom colors can be mixed to Pantone®, HKS, RAL, or customer samples.

Are supplemental products such as binders, whites, or primers available?

Yes — ST Binder, ST Opaque White, silicone‑free transparent primer 544‑05/847, and high‑opacity black 544‑33/HD are offered.

Which auxiliaries are recommended for processing?

Thinner Series 500‑017 (1–10 wt%), standard hardener mix: 60% 700‑GL + 40% 10‑02459 (10 wt%), high‑resistance hardener mix: 70% 700‑GL + 30% 10‑02459, UV reactivity additive: Series 500‑050 (1–5%),

How should the glass surface be pretreated?

Minimum surface tension: ≥ 44 mN/m, simple flame pretreatment recommended, mandatory for CEC (cold‑end coated) glass, Pyrosil® gives the best long‑term adhesion

Is post‑curing required?

Not required — but highly recommended for maximum chemical resistance: 140 °C for 30 minutes.

Which meshes and stencils can be used?

Polyester meshes 120–150 threads/cm (305–381 TPI), recommended: 140 threads/cm (355 TPI), all standard stencil systems are suitable

What UV energy is required for proper curing?

Approx. 600 mJ/cm² (140.34 mesh, depending on color). A minimum curing temperature must be maintained for 3 days to achieve final resistance.

What is the pot life?

3–4 hours with standard hardener mix, significantly shorter when using 700‑GL alone

How should tools be cleaned?

Use Series 500‑URS immediately after printing.

What tips apply for demanding applications?

Maximum durability is achieved through: Pyrosil pretreatment70/30 hardener mix (700‑GL / 10‑02459), post‑curing at 140 °C for 30 minutes

Yield

Approx. 85 m²/kg using 140.34 mesh (depending on color and conditions).

Packaging sizes

1 kg, 5 kg
