Key Features

  • Excellent absorption values within the ORM7810 ISO/IEC 7810 target range
  • Exceptionally neutral/transparent in the visible spectrum
  • Doubled shelf life of 12 months
  • Excellent peel values
  • Swiss made quality

Applications

  • Debit and credit cards
  • Smart cards
  • Loyalty cards

Excellent Transmission Density

Our proven IRB bestsellers comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 7810:2019 regarding IR transmission in the range of 860 and 950 nm, as confirmed by the American testing institute Eclipse. The norm ensures that ATMs and other IR readers reliably recognize such cards.

Easy Processing and Guaranteed Functionality

spectraCARD IRB can be processed like a conventional solvent based screen printing ink. The required IR absorption values are achieved at a single print with a mesh 90 (the industry standard requires two printing passes). This makes our IRB inks highly attractive both environmentally and economically.

Doubled Durability

We have successfully extended the shelf life from 6 months to 12 months. The high stability reduces procurement costs, as "slower" and more cost-effective shipping methods can be used. Additionally, waste is minimized since less ink needs to be disposed of.

Excellent Peel Values

spectraCARD IRBs significantly exceed the peel values required by ISO/IEC 7810 standards. When properly laminated, the overlays achieve values between 16 and 18 N for a strip width of 15 mm. This allows for greater tolerances in the lamination process, ensuring increased reliability.

Neutral Gray for Color Matching

The spectraCARD IRB Neutral Gray can be used either as a nearly invisible blocking layer or as an absorbent base for approximated adjustment of many colors from the PANTONE® Formula Guide Solid Coated. If the gray is partially pre-printed as color neutral blocking layer by means of screen printing, PMS® simulations - for example, using the mixing system PANTONE Color Bridge® - can be offset printed. This opens up numerous options in the design of transparent cards.
